“Korys” is a social care institution that opened doors and has been providing client-orientated social care service since 1998. The social care institution “Korys” is a government-funded institution that was established by Kaunas City council to provide services to people with various disabilities living in Kaunas.
Currently, we provide four types of services: help at home, daily care centre activities, independent living home care and temporary social care service. Our work is orientated towards development and implementation of better social care at the national and local level. Our team is formed of skilled and experienced specialists who care for the clients and their wellbeing. We are fully committed to improve our center every day, not only by providing a social care services and support to our clients but also at care and support to our team members.
Our mission is to empower people with various disabilities to be as much independent as possible. We work with people who have learning, physical and complex disabilities. Our institution’s main values: respect, trust, responsibility, professionalism, simplicity and collaboration. To put it shortly, we are here to make the lives of people with disabilities easier.
About the services
DAILY CARE CENTRE
In the daily care centre, people are provided with a range of activities during the day, such as arts, computers, handicrafts and etc. Moreover, the daily care centre has physiotherapists that keep our clients physically active and healthy. Clients, attending the daily care centre also have access to a psychologist who helps with their mental well-being. The daily centre also provides our clients with an ergo therapist (occupational therapist) service who focuses on maintaining and using personal abilities necessary for casual daily work. Our clients do not have to take care of their meals because they are being provided with two meals a day: breakfast and lunch.
TEMPORARY SOCIAL CARE
Temporary social care can be provided up to 5 days a week or unlimited care without any breaks can be provided for 6 months in one year. Often this place becomes a permanent home to many, therefore, we strive to ensure a safe, comfortable, cozy, privacy guaranteed and special needs ensuring environment.
INDEPENDENT LIVING HOME
The service is provided for those who lack the skills and abilities to live on their own because of underlying learning or other disabilities. People that are living here are taught independent living, self-expression and freedom of self-actualization and development.
HELP AT HOME
Help at home is social care services oriented to people who are unable fully take care of themselves due to specific physical or learning disability. Help at home service includes all necessary help and support that is required for a client, such as preparing meals, help with hygiene, home maintenance and etc.
